Allow consumers to customize their parking reminder notifications differently for short and long term sessions.

Overview

Push notifications for parking reminders are currently hard-coded and not available for consumers to configure.

We want to provide these customizations so they can adjust their own notifications between short and long term parking sessions.

The Challenge

How might we improve the Notifications screen so consumers can easily customize their notifications differently between short and long term parking sessions?

Optimizing the sitemap

The original Notifications screen had both parking and marketing communication customizations on one page.

Production had plans to add more marketing customizations in the coming months. So rather than making a long page even longer, I revised the sitemap, moved Parking & Marketing Communications up one level and onto their own respective page.

This not only reduces the number of clicks a user has to take to get to the customizations, it also gives each type of notification enough space for further customizations to be added later on.

Preset selectors for ease of use

I cleaned up the design for the parking customizations, improving the UI to visually communicate the differences between short and long term parking.

I also opted for preset time selectors. These times were decided based off of research gathered from previous surveys that asked consumers when they wanted to receive their notifications.
